Overview:
This module coincides with the Environment Design module, for which we have been allowed to chosen a main theme and a subtheme from the categories bellow. Once I have decided on my selected themes, they will be used to influence my 3D asset creation to create a centre piece for my environment work.
Main Themes:
- Horror
- Science Fiction
- Fantasy
- Historical
Sub-themes:
- Alien
- Corruption
- Utopia
- Dystopia
- Celebration
- Decay
- Family
- Beauty
For this project we have a set amount of themes and sub-themes that we can combine to create our environment. taking those I concepted together 4 main ideas that I would like to look at in more detail before moving on to create the my environment.
For each of the 4 ideas, I decided to explore, I looked at some concept images on Pinterest of games, films and other media that I would be able to draw ideas from.

I can then refer back to come of these images when creating my concepts for my 3D Asset, I also used these Pinterest boards for my environment as I want to make sure that I can design the environment around whatever asset I create
Moodboards:
Using what I gathered from Pinterest, and from looking through some of the art books I have. I collaged together some moodboards for my selected themes, I haven’t settled on a single theme yet as I want to concept a few ideas together for each to get a sense as to what each environment and asset would look like together.
Historical and Decay:

I thought I might look at Roman or Greek armour or shields as they would be able to have a lot of detail modelled onto them and are objects that have survived the test of time and have decayed, so could be something I could create.
Fantasy and Corruption:

I decided to focus on looking at different types of medieval weaponry and how that could be corrupted in a fantasy setting.,
Sci-Fi and Dystopia:

For the sci-fi theme I chose to combine it with dystopia to almost create a cyberpunk / blade runner aesthetic that I could use when creating both my environment and asset.
Fantasy and Utopia:

With Utopia I went for a more ‘high fantasy’ style so everything is more refined and clean cut with influences of magic throughout.
